About

The forgotten stories, kept

Crystalier exists for one purpose: to trace the forgotten histories of the stones people have trusted for centuries, and to tell those stories properly, with named sources, for the people who keep those stones today.

If you have collected stones for years, you have probably noticed how the subject is usually treated. Either as a catalogue of properties with no story, or as hype with no history. We think the stones deserve better, and so do you. Every historical claim on this site is drawn from documented sources, which are listed at the end of each article. Where tradition and evidence part ways, we say so plainly. Where a popular claim has no support, we tell you before you spend money on it. The channel that tells you what not to buy is the one you can believe when it tells you what to buy, and we intend to be believed.

About the curator

Roman Vale, curator of Crystalier

Roman Vale is Crystalier’s founder and curator. He traces the forgotten histories of the stones people have trusted for centuries, and curates the collection at Crystalier. He is not a gemologist and does not claim to be one; he is a researcher and a storyteller, and every claim he publishes is checked against the named sources listed with each article.

What you will find here

The site is organized the way the subject deserves to be: Stone Histories, the documented traditions behind the stones; Living With Crystals, practical guidance on placement and practice; and Buying Smart, honest protection for your money in a market full of dyed, heated, and manufactured impostors. The free Fake-Spotting Guide, a 34-page reference covering 26 commonly faked stones, is our standing gift to readers.

A note on what this site is not: it is not medical advice, and it never will be. The traditions we document are cultural and spiritual history. They are presented as exactly that. Our full disclaimer says this at greater length.

Take care of your energy. — Roman
